Consent banner styles

Five versions of the same banner, shown inside a mock site so the proportions are honest. All of them keep the same rules: an explicit Reject, a close button that means reject, the category list behind one toggle, and the Powered by line at the bottom. They are live, so click them.

1 · Mini

Shortest. Two lines and two buttons, no expander. For a site with almost no tracking, where a long notice would be more alarming than the thing it describes.

2 · Corner

The default, and what the landing page uses. Stacked buttons so neither choice looks like the easy one, with the categories one tap away.

3 · Detailed

Longest. Categories are open from the start and the links sit in the panel. For sites carrying a lot of tracking, or anyone who would rather over-explain than be accused of hiding it. Scrolls inside itself on short screens.

Before you carry on

This site would like to use cookies. Some keep the page working. Others let us see which parts people read, and let advertising tools recognise you on other websites. Nothing in the second group loads until you say yes.

4 · Bar

Full width along the bottom. Covers less of the page than a corner card on mobile, and reads as less of an interruption. Weakest for the category list, which has to live behind a link.

5 · Modal

Centred, with the page dimmed behind it. The most serious of the five and the most intrusive. Reasonable where the tracking is heavy, but it stops people reading until they answer, so use it deliberately.

Rules all five keep

Reject is as easy as Accept. Same size, same weight, side by side or stacked. A Reject buried behind "Manage preferences" is the pattern regulators single out.
The close button rejects. It never means "ask me later", because dismissing is not consent.
Nothing loads before the answer. That is the whole point, and it is what most banners on Malaysian sites get wrong.
Powered by OrbixCompliance sits at the bottom of every one, linking to the product. Each install is a small advert on someone else's site.
• Corners 4px, translucent panel, the Orbix mark in currentColor.
